1. A Virtual Tutee System for Motivation to Read
The purpose of this research project is to design and implement a Virtual Tutee System (VTS) that aims to enhance college students' reading engagement. VTS is a computer-based learning environment in which students are asked to teach virtual tutees. VTS primarily capitalizes on motivational benefits of a learning-by-teaching technique. A design framework for this VTS is published in Journal of Applied Instructional Design (see Park and Kim, 2012). Papers reporting empirical studies are published in Educational Technology Research and Development (see Park and Kim, 2014) and Computer & Education (see Park and Kim, 2015). Another manuscript is currently under review of a journal.
